Trans-genred

Post by isidore on April 21st 2008, 10:41 pm

Is there a book you've read that sticks out as being totally outside your usual areas of literary interest? Why did you read it? What did you think?

I recall reading "The Secret Garden" by Frances Hodgson Burnett at the prompting of an ex girlfriend. She'd really enjoyed it as a kid. I'm embarrassed to say that I read the whole thing, all the while wanting to know what would become of Mary and Dickon and Colin. Embarassed

I wish I would've read more as a kid!

Interesting topic Smile

Heh yeah, my usual area of literary interest is fiction, and I have recently been struggling with Truman Capote's "In Cold Blod" as River Dog recommended it to me (he is huge on documentaries)... Embarassed Not that I finished it or anything LOL I'm such a loser.

Now I realize that the narration of actual events feels like having to eat my veggies when I rather stuff my face with fantastical junk.
